Recall Update & Shoppe Happenings....
Great Dog is sincerely concerned about
your pet's health, especially in light of the recent recalls.
Great Dog has made a commitment to insuring that we carry only the
highest quality of products. As one of Seattle's largest
advocates for pet in our urban communities, Great Dog is taking the
largest steps to helping you keep your pet safe. Our retail
manager, Cesira Omissi, as well as co-owners Leslie Csokasy and Judi
Anderson-Wright, are on top of not only the pet food recalls but are
in constant communication with pet food companies that are devoted
to pet food safety. We are the first pet supply store in
the Seattle area (as well as nationally) to require the pet food
companies to provide us with a written statement detailing the
point of origin of their food ingredients. We are also
insisting that as a liaison to the public, we are notified of any
change in their ingredient list before the food is brought into the
store. These assurances as well as the quality of ingredients and
the integrity of the food companies will be the basis of our
choosing the foods that line our shelves. We are also in the
process of reviewing the treats we showcase for dogs and cats.
Over the next several months you will see a lot of changes happening
in our little retail shop. Our lines, across the board, may
change based on higher standards of social and ethical choices we
make. We will also be launching a newsletter to help you make
the right choices for your pets as well as keep up-to-date on the
incredible things happening at Great Dog. In addition, our
point of sale software will be tracking the foods and treats we sell
you so that should anything truly concerning come to light, we can
