How does private
training at Great Dog work?
First, we discuss your needs via a telephone call or email.
Christine will then schedule an assessment session and email you
a pre-assessment information packet. We know that sometimes the
need for professional help with challenging behaviors is time
sensitive so we will work with you to get you scheduled as soon
as possible for an assessment at Great Dog. ($35 per half
hour). At the end of the half hour assessment, your educator
will help you assess the best course of instruction for you and
your canine.
What is our expertise?
We are excited to boast some of the most experienced and sought out
instructors in the Seattle area. We have canine educators who focus
on puppies and early canine development and socialization, those who
are perfect matches for enthusiastic adolescent dogs in need of
honing their basic obedience skills, (think super rowdy dogs that
have a lack of understanding about how to meet your expectations!).
Some of our instructors are experts in small breeds, especially
terriers. We have become well known and respected for our work with
overly reactive dogs as well as dogs with aggression issues. We also
collaborate with several veterinarians when behavioral problems
require input from a medical point of view.
Where are private lessons
and classes conducted?
Great Dog sports a large training facility, dedicated to our
obedience clients. This is separate from our daycare (just 2 doors
down), but offers an additional 1750 sq ft of training space.
Distractions can be added and other safe dogs may be introduced to
the training process to teach your dog appropriate behaviors. This
facility allows us to expand our group classes to daytimes and early
evenings.
How much does private training cost?
At Great Dog: $65 - $95 depending on training required.
In Your Home: $80 -$110 depending on training required.
Play and Train $850 for a two week program (total 10
sessions)
What about Day Play and Train?
(Our versions of the board and train) First we set up a free
1/2 hr consultation/evaluation (additional time will be charged.)
We then design a program and goals for your dog. Typically, we
train during day & business hours...so while you head off to your
own job, your pooch will be at Great Dog for his! Throughout the
day, your dog will get personalized, one on one training dedicated
toward accomplishing his goals. (Typically between 1-2 hours each
day, depending on what you want your dog to master) Between
5:30-6:30pm, you pick up your pup at Great Dog & head home!
Throughout our training program, we will report on his progress and
give the occasional homework for you to practice. The number of
days and length of training sessions depend on what your dog's
learning curve is and what types of things your dog needs to learn.
At the end of each week, we will have a private session with you to
teach you your dog's new tricks!
If your dog requires less training we can schedule a program based
on specific needs
