At Great Dog we believe
that all dogs are great! Some simply have some unwanted
behaviors that we as humans find challenging. Some dogs are
painfully shy resulting in lack of confidence and fear induced
responses, other dogs are overly confident resulting in high
arousal that my lead to aggression or super reactivity. Some
dogs have missed their formative experiences in socialization to
other dogs, people and novel situations. Whatever the cause of
challenging behaviors in we focus on changing the unwanted,
challenging behavior to wanted and socially acceptable behavior.
Our techniques are modeled on the most current research and use
reward-based positive training to help you and your dog get
beyond the challenges.

Fabulous Fido in Five Evenings!
Everyone who shares their
life with a dog dreams of teaching their dog to be a happy,
well-behaved and brilliant canine companion as quickly as
possible. In our overly scheduled lives it can be difficult to
commit to a class that meets one a week for a series of 4-6
weeks. If you have tried to attend classes like this, but you
never seem to be able to complete it, or make all of the
sessions we suggest you try this class that meets for five 90
minute sessions for 5 evening in a row. You begin on a Wednesday
and end on a Sunday; and then you are done! You only have to
alter your schedule for a few days; you can record your favorite
TV shows, and miss only a couple of you social activities for
the week of this class! This scheduling technique provides daily
practice and reinforcement of the skills you learn, which helps
to cement the concepts in both you and you canine best friend.
Modeled on the highly successful format created by Jean
